What Happened to this Blog?

I didn’t share any posts on my blog through all of 2018.  And the year before that, just two posts.  That’s horrible.  One of my goals this year is to start breathing new life into this little corner of mine on the internet and be consistent.  It’s so easy to start things, but keeping up with them is the real work.  So what the heck happened?  What’s with the complete lack of effort here?

Honestly, I think it was a combination of two simple things.  The first, pure laziness, and I’m ashamed of that.  The second, Instagram.  It is so easy to share a quick thought or two as a caption for an Instagram post.  Add laziness to the mix and a blog can quickly become pushed aside by your Instagram feed, which is basically a microblog.  The fact is, there is so much more behind what I post on Instagram that I miss sharing here.  The work that goes into a photo or series, my thoughts, and the overall process of being creative.

With that void, I’ve decided to get back to sharing more with you all here again at least once a month, perhaps twice.  I’ll obviously be sharing work that I’ve been hired to shoot, but I’m also planning to start sharing some personal work as well or whatever else I might be doing related to photography.
